One more shoot before the holidays are here!

I had the chance to take pictures of some good friends!  I have known Jessica (the mom) since we were in 7th grade, and let's just say things didn't start out on friendly terms :)  Something about me being a best friend stealer.  Turns out we were destined to be friends and despite being busy moms we still try and find the time to get together now and again, even if it is just for her to watch one of my kids, or me to take photos of hers.  I have more photos to go through but wanted to post a few since I know she is excited to see them. So, here are some of her adorable children!

Oh to be a kid again with mom pushing you on a swing!

I hope to have some of the family pics posted by the end of the week.

Christmas is around the corner...

I can hardly believe it, Christmas is only 3-4 days away (I had to change how many days thanks to my 9 year old arguing with me)!  And of course, things have been crazy busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I had the opportunity last week to shoot pictures of the King Family.  It was such a blessing to take pictures of such a beautiful family.  I was instantly taken back by the eyes of both the children and their mother.  The kids woudln't let me snap any shots of the three of them, but I did capture a few of the kids themselves.
Look at those eyes

When I first suggested the kids climb up into the trees it was young Matthew that seemed unsure about the idea which seemed to shock his parents.  But, as you can see, he made it up there!

And as it turned out, Dad had brought the family dog, Koda, along with him.  He was overjoyed to have the chance to stick him in the family pictures as well.  It was great, he was a very photogenic dog!  We even found a ball at the park for him to play with for being such a great client!
Thank-you King Family for letting me help you capture this moment in your lives.  Merry Christmas!

Best friends return

What better subjects to practice on then your children and their friends?  Ginny, Tori and I headed to the Capitol building for some indoor photos.  Thankfully the weather cooperated for about 15 minutes and let us head outdoors as well.  These girls are great!
Ginny kept telling me to say things to her to make her laugh.  So, I told her that Tori smelled bad.  Ginny found it hillarious, Tori, not so much so!
I love that you can see her eyes smiling here!
My favorite picture from that day.  Completely natural and no editing required!

Koda Ryan

I schedule another shoot for Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. The weather was looking iffy so we planned on going to the Capitol where we could take some pictures both indoors and outdoors if the weather cooperated.  It seems that luck was on our side as the weather stayed clear and allowed us to head outside.  As if that wasn't lucky enough, the Capitol's Christmas Tree was up!

Could he be any cuter?  He was completely in love with the ornament.  Dad was a little worried he was going to pull down the tree, but it made for great photos!  Following our shots around the Capitol building we headed outdoors where he had more room for run.  If I went one way with the camera, he was heading the other!
We didnt' let that stop us from capturing some great images, although it wasn't hard with such a handsome little man!

Thank you Sandra for allowing me to the capture a few brief moments in this little man's life!  I look forward to many more years of watching him grow!

The Photography Begins!

Well, I just stumbled upon a fellow church mates blog about failure and it made me realize my own failure, my BLOG! I was so sure I could start it and keep up on it, but clearly that didn't happen. So I start it for a whole new reason, to help assist and talk about my latest endeavor of family photography! I am hoping to make a go and have tried a few photo shoots so far. There are many reasons why I have decided to do this. Ultimately, I want to be able to capture special moments for everyone I can. I have had the opportunity so far to do a couple of shoots.

One was for Miss Harmony. She is just about a week younger than Emilia. I don't think there has ever been a time when I didn't see her on a mission, with lots of smiles, and full of energy, except the day of our photo shoot.  It seems that one year olds are very shy in front of the camera, or perhaps it is the strange woman following them around ;)  We caught a couple of smiles, but even those pictures that didn't show her adorable grin will provide precious memories for years to come.  Can't wait to see her grow into a gorgeous young lady!

My next photo adventures was with my oldest daughter Anna and her best friend Gabi. It was rainy and dreary but we still had a lot of fun in the fall leaves at Falls Terrace. These two girls have been best friends for nearly 6 years, I can only hope they will be there for one another for years to come!

I also snapped a couple of photos of my two other beautiful daughters, yes I am a bit partial.
